2024 Speaker Series:
The Beadwork of
George Blackwood

George Blackwood will share his passion for Native American beadwork. He specializes in "Peyote Stitch" that "goes around" objects, such as pens, canes, and key chains. Peyote Stitch has a rich history, getting its name from beadwork on Peyote staffs, fans, and gourds used in Peyote ceremonies.

Painting of Early Overbrook

Jim Coffman painstakingly painted a scene of downtown Overbrook back in the 1880s when the town was
co-founded by one of Jim's relatives, W.T. Coffman. Hear the story behind the painting and see it for yourself.
